Summary:

The Trayer position is responsible for the traying of extruded product in addition to visual inspections, bagging and packaging as required. This position acts as the first line of defense in identifying, discarding and communicating about non-conforming product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform individual handling, visual inspection and bagging/packaging activities for various extruded medical tubing.
  • Collaborate with supervisor and production operator to understand and execute specific tasks associated with specific jobs.
  • Properly fill out traying/packaging logs and other controlled documents as needed.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to customer requirements.
  • Train, as needed, on new policies and procedures as dictated by customer or departmental requirements.
  • Utilize specific equipment related to traying/handling/packaging as necessary.

  • Perform various secondary operations activities including trimming, tipping, bonding, forming, printing and all other activities as instructed by supervisor, making sure to adhere to customer requirements.
  • Utilize specific equipment related to the job responsibilities.
  • Perform necessary adjustments to equipment including replacing wearable parts (bushings, blades, etc.)
  • Adhere to validated processing parameters when applicable.
  • Accurately fill out all paperwork, including Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP data if needed.

Draftsman - Ashaway, Rhode Island

Purpose:

We have an immediate need for an entry to intermediate experience level Draftsman in the Hi-Tech Machine and Fabrication Division of our company. This position will use CAD software to provide support to engineers and shop floor personnel by preparing detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the engineering and sales offices to create 3D models of various components, as well as fabrication drawings and assembly drawings.
  • Work with engineering & sales on design related issues.
  • Create and organize parts lists from 3D models using SolidWorks.
  • Create BOMs (Bill of Materials) from parts lists and incorporate into companywide ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Associates degree in Computer Drafting or Design or similar.
  • Equivalent work experience is also acceptable (2-3 years).
  • Experience with reading, understanding and interpreting engineering drawings or blueprints.
  • Experienced in the use of a 3D modeling and drafting software. (AutoCAD, CREO, SolidWorks, Etc.)
  • Some experience with ERP or PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software preferred.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and a desire to understand how things function.

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Four (4) year college degree in an engineering field.
  • Manufacturing engineering and one (1) year plastics processing experience preferred.
  • Experience in plastics processing environment, with specific understanding of tooling and materials.
  • Experience with standard manufacturing documentation (routers, BOMs, ISO standards, drawings, etc.).

The Engineering Intern role will be responsible for supporting lead Process Engineers involved in tool design, extrusion process development, and subsequent operations of such tubing and devices. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and ability to adjust priorities and objectives on a day-to-day basis.

  • Support the conversion of small-scale processes into large-scale operations.
