Formed Bar

Formed bar is a bar with a unique cross sectional shape other than the usual rod or bus bars.


Types of Formed Bars

Types of shape, various types of cross sections but the typical shapes are shown on the right figure.
Please consult with us for details on the shape. The main applications for the formed bars are as below.

Cross Sectional Shape


Standard Dimension Range

The cross sectional area need to fit in a Φ50mm circle or 25mmx85mm rectangular shape.
Please consult with us for dimensions over the standard dimension range. Circumscribed Circle cross section area up to about Φ140mm may be possible.
For the minimal thickness, it is dependent up on cross sectional shape and need to be discussed and specified.

Dimensional Tolerance

The dimensional tolerance is +/-2% of each dimension. Provided that max.+/-0.6mm, min.+/-0.2mm, length tolerance to be +15/-0mm, if not specified.

Possible material

For other material than TPC and OFC, AgOFC can be applied for formed bars.


For Channel Bus
Our channel shaped bus bars we produce as formed bars are now applied in place of the main cable at Large capacity power plants and transforming substations.

Upon Ordering
Upon ordering, if a drawing can be submitted, this will enable us to determine if it can be formed.
If it is possible, the tolerances will be inputted into the drawing. If the required is a new type, charge will ne made for preparation the die.
